Getting to know Caleb

I can't believe that we have been a forever family almost 2 weeks already. Caleb really has fit right in and it already feels like he has always been with us. He continues to sleep through the night which is a huge blessing. His big sister, Claire, however still struggles with sleeping through the night. Gary and I have had a child packed bed lately. Gary felt the need to point out this morning that I had just a sliver of bed while my 2 youngest were sprawled across our bed! Thanks, honey I hadn't noticed!  We really wouldn't change a thing though.  We know these precious children are going to grow up too fast and not need mommy and daddy during the night.  I can't remember the last time Brianna came in our room during the night. SIGH....but this isn't what this post is about.  I want to share some of the things we are learning about Caleb.

~He can't stand to have his hands dirty.  If he is eating sticky rice, he will not continue to eat until all of the rice is off his hands.  You can imagine this makes for a long mealtime!

~He has become a ladies man!  Right now, he really loves mommy and Brianna.

~He gives the best kisses and he will share kisses with everyone in the house!  He likes to put his hands on my cheeks and he puckers up and gives me a big kiss!  So sweet!

~He loves to play outside.  Thanks to the great weather, we have been spending a lot of time outside!

~He loves cars!  He walks around saying something like "cookie" and each time he does he heads for his cars.  Nicholas tried looking online for the K*rean word for car but he didn't find anything.

~He loves to eat.  If he is awake, he wants to be eating.  He is still picky but we have gone days without feeding him rice!  I think that is a victory!  We went to an International Food event on base this weekend and he loved the K*rean booth.  They had some delicious noodles.  Claire and Caleb went back to that table several times!

~He is responding to his name, Caleb.  We were saying Caleb and then his K*rean name but we have now dropped his K*rean name because he responds consistently to Caleb.

~He is repeating what the kids are saying.  The kids have him saying "what's up" with hand motions to go with it.  He still babbles constantly in K*rean which is adorable!  He also says "neigh" when we play horse!

~He has an easy going personality.  We are a fairly easy going, go with the flow family so he is a perfect fit!

So much fun!!! SO glad to hear he's a good sleeper and eater. That makes the transition go more smoothly. Would LOVE to watch him pick every little tiny piece of sticky rice off his cute, pudgy little fingers. He's just so adorable!!! (:
