Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I am thankful for:

~The email we received from immigration saying that we have been appoved!! We are still waiting for the notices to arrive in the mail. Once Korea has our approval Caleb's paperwork will go to the Embassy for his visa. Once his visa is issued, his flight to the US will be purchased! After almost 9 months of waiting and praying our boy is coming home soon! Yippee Jesus!

Thankful Thursday

This thankful Thursday I am thankful for:

~SNOW~Yes, I said snow! We had snow last week and the base was closed so the whole family got to enjoy some of the white stuff here in south Alab*ma! The locals say they haven't had snow in 10+ years. The kids loved playing in it. It was the nice wet stuff that is perfect for making a snowman and that is just what they did!

What are you thankful for?
Just an update - everything is completed for the adoption for Caleb on the Korean side we just need our immigration approval so he can get his visa. He has had his visa medical appointment and he passed that but they can't take the paperwork to the embassy without our approval. Believe me, you will hear as soon as we get our approval! We have been waiting 75+ days so we are expecting it to come anytime. Tomorrow would be good, don't you think?

Fabulous Friday

Well, I missed thankful Thursday yesterday. Sorry about that. We are down to 2 computers right now so we have to take turns. With 3 kids doing homeschool, 1 husband doing taxes and 1 mom who didn't sleep much the night before because Claire is sick all equaled not getting my thankful Thursday post done! Today is a new day and I will share with you what I am thankful for this week. Without further ado, I am thankful for:

~My wonderful hubby, who got the taxes done yesterday and submitted online! Woohoo, way to go honey!

~SNOW!! Yes, I said snow. We woke up to see snow falling in our part of the world! The base is closed for the day. Yippee, a family day at home with no place that we have to go! The kids are just waiting for enough of the white stuff to fall so they can go out and play in it! On the downside, we left our sleds in storage because it never snows in Alab*ma! Famous last words!

Yay, the snow is sticking to the ground!

~The wonderful time we had in Ge*rgia at our niece's baby shower! We just can't wait for little Noah Gavin to arrive!

Turner, Mallory, Alisha, and Claire

Claire, Alisha and Brianna Isn't Alisha just the cutest? She is all baby!

~Brianna's new hairstyle! After consulting with her cousin, Mallory, Brianna decided she was ready for a new look. It is really cute and makes her look older.

Mallory colored it for her before she got it cut.

~That Hunter got a good report at the doctor this week. We met with his nephrologist and urologist. The nephrologist was very pleased with how Hunter looked. His right kidney is the size of an adult's kidney and his left kidney is the size of a 1 or 2 year old. They are not sure how much function his left kidney has but the right kidney is doing the job for both kidneys. That is fantastic news! The urologist wants to do more tests but there may be a chance he can get off of medication that he has been taking since he was a baby!

~That Claire has a family that will love on her when she is sick. Claire has been sick this week, really for the first time since being home. She has been running a fever for 3 days and can't seem to shake it. She has an ear infection and a cough. I am thankful that we can comfort her and love on her. She is one tough girl. I didn't even know she was sick until the fever started. She has been running around playing with a fever of 102.5. We can tell she doesn't feel well but others who don't know her wouldn't even notice!

~Last but not least, I am thankful for Nicholas! On Monday, February 8th, we celebrated his 13th birthday! Yikes, I have 2 teenagers in the house! I am thankful that we got to celebrate in Ge*rgia and in Alab*ma! I am thankful for the young man that he is becoming. I am thankful that he loves the Lord and that he has a heart for orphans. He has told us that he is not going to marry a girl unless she agrees that they will adopt children someday. I told him to start praying now for a wife who will share his heart for the orphan. Happy Birthday, Nicholas!!

Not only does Mallory color hair, she makes cakes too! Great job, Mallory!

Thankful Thursday

On this cold, rainy Thursday I am thankful for:

~My warm house! (Even if our gas bill is sky high!) I am typically cold by nature and I don't like being cold so I am thankful for my warm house on nights like this one!

~That we could travel to Georgia and watch my niece cheer at her college's basketball game! Being a part of family things like this is a luxury for us. Being milit*ry, we usually live far away from family. We have travelled so much since we got to Alab*ma, we have put 18,000 miles on the van since getting here in July!

~That Claire is talking more and listening more! The other day we were leaving the store and she was walking in front of me and I said "Claire, stop" and she turned around and stopped and signed to me and said the word stop. I said "yes, good listening Mommy said stop!"

~That Claire has slept through the night 3 times this week! No middle of the night waking and no coming in our room! In the morning, when she does get up she is so excited and comes and tells me "Claire slept good!" Yes, Claire, you did sleep good!! Yippee!

~I am thankful for bloggy friends like Linny who keep us updated and focused on how we can help the orphan. Click here to read her blog and see how you can pray for the orphan especially those in Uganda right now. There are families right now in Uganda who by the Ugandan courts are the parents of these children but the US Embassy will not issue them visas to bring the children home. These families did everything right, they got immigration approval to bring home an orphan and now the US won't give them a visa. All I can think about is that this could be us. We are waiting for immigration approval to bring an orphan home, Caleb, what if once we got that the US decided not to grant him a visa to come home. We would be devasated just like these families in Uganda are now. Pray that God will change the hearts of those at the US Embassy and that these children will be able to come home.

In this video, Claire is saying baby. Brianna and I came out into the living room carrying the stuff to make a blanket and Claire ran over to the bag and pulled out the fabric and started saying over and over baby, baby. She knew we were making a blanket for baby Noah! Sorry it is so dark! Can't show you pictures of the finished blanket yet just in case Alisha sees this. Sorry, Alisha you have to wait for the baby shower!
