Thankful Thursday

This Thursday as I sit in the living room of my mom's house in Nebraska I have a lot to be thankful for. I am thankful for:

~Making Christmas cookies with Grandma! The little ones have always made sugar cookies with Grandma. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, Grandma or Claire!

Claire's motto is "you can never have too many sprinkles!"
Grandma Vickie and Claire!
~For snow! Ok, I'm not thankful for the cold but it sure looks pretty outside! Plus we will have a white Christmas!

~For a chance for cousins to play together in the snow! Hunter has been looking forward to playing in the snow for a long time. He stayed outside for over an hour!

Nicholas, Hunter and Zach

Hunter, Maggie, Sierra and Mia Claire and Stacey are climbing up the big hill of snow. Sierra is smiling at us!
Claire making a snow angel! Mia!

Maggie! The boys are king of the hill!

~Time spent with family and friends! We visited San Antonio on our way to Nebraska. It was wonderful to see our friends and visit our old church. Laurie, please share your pictures! I realized later that you took all the pictures! It was great to see our "parents" again too. Larry and Barbara are so special to us and love us like their own children!

~I am thankful for this time of year and the time we take to remember the birth of our Savior. Christmas is about so much more than presents and Santa. It is about our God sending His son to this world to save us from our sins. That is the best present we can get and one we certainly don't deserve! Take some time to reflect on how God has blessed you this Christmas season. I for one have been blessed beyond belief!

Thankful Thursday

Hey, it's me again. I missed doing thankful Thursday last week so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss it this week. This Thursday I am thankful for:

~My kids working so hard on their school work these last 2 weeks. I challenged them to get 5 weeks of lessons done in just 2 weeks. They have stepped up to the challenge and are making great progress. Which means time off over Christmas and New Year!

~The sights and sounds of Christmas! I love the Christmas lights and the Christmas songs on the radio!

~The smiles on my kids faces as we share in Christmas traditions

Don't worry about the purple lips - he just had a grape slushie!

~That Jubilee Promise is an orphan no more! She belongs! She is a daughter and a sister and she is loved!

~The surprise that arrived in the mail yesterday. What a great present for us. The CD had 2 videos of our precious boy. I can't wait to hold him in my arms!

~That we are headed to see family and friends very soon! Also, that we will be spending the New Year with our Georgia family. We will be surrounded by family for Christmas and New Year and for that I am grateful!
What are you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I am thankful for:

~Alexis, who worked so hard to update my blog! Did you notice the changes?! It looks great Alexis, thanks! You can check out Alexis and the amazing work that she does by clicking on her name.

~That Jubilee Promise will be celebrating her birthday and Christmas with her new family! Check out Linny's blog to read more! Yippee Jesus!

~That Gary and I had our fingerprints done for immigration on Tuesday! Please pray that they are cleared quickly so we can bring Caleb home!

~For the care package that we are getting ready to send to Korea for our little boy! We are including some candy to share, some clothes, a car from the movie CARS, and a photo album full of pictures for Caleb to get to know his new family. We labeled each picture in Korean! We just need to get some disposable cameras and then it is ready to ship!

Packaged with love..

~I am also thankful that Claire slept through the night the other night, in her own bed I might add! Since, that is a rare occurrence I am thankful when it happens! We won't talk about last night but we are making baby steps!

What are you thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I am thankful for:

~A husband that takes the time to be invested in the lives of our kids. Last weekend, he took the boys on an 8 mile hike around beautiful Lake Martin. This weekend, he and Nicholas are going on a church retreat. Precious time spent making lasting memories! (Of course, the girls enjoyed our day shopping!)

My hikers..

~The beauty of nature. The guys saw it first hand hiking.

They saw this across the trail..I'm glad they saw it before they walked into it!
~The fun of taking the kids to get their photo taken. We got some really great shots! I am thankful for photogenic kids! :) I know I am a little biased but this is my thankful Thursday post!

~Finally, I am thankful for the first picture of my 5 kids together!

I am blessed indeed! What are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursday

This Thursday, I am thankful for the phone call we received from our adoption agency saying that they were sending us our acceptance paperwork! That's right, Caleb is our son! We are so excited and can't wait to get him home. We now are waiting on immigration to approve us so we can get his visa to come home. Many of you know, that November is National Adoption Month and I am thankful that this November we found out officially that our 2nd adoption will be happening soon! I am thankful that Caleb's days as an orphan are coming to an end. He has a family and he is loved! So without further ado, I introduce you to Caleb!

Isn't he just the cutest? He just turned 2 in August and although he looks chubby he only weighs 22 pounds and is about 32 inches tall! I hope the clothes we already got for him aren't too big on him! We are fortunate that we have more pictures of him as an infant and toddler. I will share those with you too later on! God is good, the child He chose for us is coming home soon!
